We are excited to be getting back on the courts and with that we have some exciting news.
Jeffrey Campbell is joining the staff at Pinetop tennis!
A fixture in Greensboro tennis over the last twelve years, Coach Campbell most recently coached at North Carolina A & T and prior to that at Greensboro Day School. Under Coach Campbell’s leadership the Greensboro Day School boys and girls varsity teams won over 18 PAIS Conference Championships. He was also named Coach of the Year over 16 times in the Conference and his players have gone on to play in tennis in every athletic division in Universities across the country, many of them receiving scholarships.
In addition to his work in schools, Jeff has spent many years in the tennis industry. He was the Junior Program Coordinator and the Assistant Head Pro at the Middlesex Tennis and Swim Club in Connecticut, the New Canaan Racquet Club, a staff pro at the Sound Shore Tennis Club in Port Chester, New York, and the Assistant Head Pro at the Twin Oaks Country Club in Chappaqua, New York. He was also a pro at the historical West Side Tennis Club in Queens, New York. This club was the home of the United States Open Tennis Tournament for years before it moved to its current home in Flushing, New York. Prior to moving to New York, he was a member of four different clubs in California, including The Beverly Hills Country Club as well as The Palisades Country Club, the home of Lindsey Davenport.
Coach Campbell has also given back to the wonderful game of tennis by serving as the Ranking Chairman of the Men’s adult division on the United States Tennis Association Eastern Division in New York. He also taught tennis at the international Butch Seawagon CATS Tennis Program in Manhattan, New York as well as a Tennis Instructor for the New York Junior Tennis League also in Manhattan, New York.
In addition to a stellar coaching and teaching career, Coach Campbell has also enjoyed an outstanding playing career. Some of his career highlights as a player include being ranked in North Carolina (USTA Southern), California (USTA Southern California) and New York (Eastern) divisions of the United States Tennis Association. His many and varied rankings have been as high as high as #2 in Singles, #1 in Mixed Doubles, and #9 in Doubles. He has also held a national ranking as #3 in the American Tennis Association (ATA). He has been the runner-up of the Orange County (CA) Master’s Championships, Winner of the Racquet Club of Irvine (CA) Club Championship, and the Winner of the Beverly Hills Country Club (CA). Recently, Coach Campbell was the winner of the Guilford Challenge Tennis Tournament as well as the North Carolina United States Tennis Association Clay Court Championships.
He has been a member of several elite tennis clubs such as Sunny Hills Racquet Club (CA), the Racquet Club of Irvine (CA), the Beverly Hills Racquet Club (CA), and the Palisades Tennis Club (CA). In addition to his work in the tennis industry, Coach Campbell has had a 15 year career as an educator working in private schools in California, New York, Connecticut, and North Carolina. He also holds a B.A. in English and an M. Ed. in Education.
Jeff is working with Junior Tennis Camps, Cardio, Junior Clinics, Men's and Women's Clinics. He is also available for private and group lessons that can be arranged at your convenience
Lesson rates:
1 hour private: $50.00
1/2 hour private: $25.00
1 hour semi-private: $23.00 per person
