Dear Members of the Anoka Minnesota Stake,
We hope you are enjoying this General Conference Weekend!
Last year, many responded to the invitation to "Love your Neighbor" by participating in collecting food to provide thousands of meals to people throughout the Twin Cities (CCX Media #1, #2).
This month, the Anoka MN stake is joining the Minneapolis, Oakdale, and St. Paul Stakes, to participate with our friends and neighbors in sharing the blessings of serving others through a food drive collection.
We are partnering with The Food Group of Minneapolis to coordinate and centralize the food collection. Saturday October 23rd is the main collection day of food at various chapels around the metro area. Bags, posters, and flyers are being distributed to each ward this week. Please check with your ward elder's quorum and Relief Society leaders or food drive coordinator for additional information.
You can also use the attached flyer with any grocery bags to collect non-perishable food from your friends and neighbors. Many members have found success in sharing bags with their neighbors and then having food delivered to their home and then they brought the food to the chapel.
Please deliver the collected food to designated chapels on Saturday the 23rd, in our stake this includes the Brooklyn Park building and the Crystal building.
In addition, there are multiple service sessions (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084AAFA82AA6F58-thefood1) for volunteers to participate in sorting and packing the food at The Food Group warehouse at the end of October.
We hope that you may use these service opportunities to invite your friends and neighbors to Come & See and Come & Serve alongside many others in our community.
Warm regards,
The Anoka Minnesota Stake Presidency
