Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are pleased to share with you that this afternoon the Brooklyn Park Branch (Spanish) was created as a ninth unit in the Anoka Minnesota Stake. The Brooklyn Park Branch (Spanish) was created by dividing the Twin Cities 1st Ward (Spanish) that previously covered all of the Anoka and Minneapolis Stakes.
This branch will serve Spanish-speaking members living within the boundaries of the Anoka Minnesota Stake north of the Crystal Ward. Spanish-speaking members living within the Crystal ward and within the Minneapolis Stake Boundaries will continue to attend the Twin Cities 1st Ward that meets at the Nicollet Chapel in Minneapolis.
President Rosalino Matus has been called as the Brooklyn Park Branch President and Brother Julio Pineda as his first counselor. This new branch will meet at our Brooklyn Park Chapel as a fourth unit in that building. Updated meeting times will be forthcoming to existing wards that meet at the Brooklyn Park meetinghouse.
Our stake presidency and the Minneapolis stake presidency have been counseling, fasting and praying about this change for the last few years. We are grateful for the inspiration and revelation that have prepared members and leaders for this change as the Brooklyn Park branch will add significant strength to our stake and communities. We have seen the hand of the Lord directing the work of salvation and exaltation as we've exercised faith in Him to hasten the work in this part of His vineyard.
We welcome approximately 150 members of the Brooklyn Park Branch to the Anoka Minnesota Stake and hope you will also get to know these wonderful members and help them to feel welcome.
