Dear Brothers and Sisters
We are surrounded by opportunities to serve right now - in our families, our neighborhoods, and communities. One of the greatest ways we can serve is to donate blood and help save lives. The St Paul Stake is partnering with the Red Cross to host blood drives over the next few months and we invite each of you that are able to sign up to donate. Once we have a date, we will be reaching out to other faith leaders near our sites to join with us in supporting these blood drives. It can be a great interfaith offering of service.
Before we can be assigned an exact date, the Red Cross needs to have an estimated number of donors per site. We are hoping to host the following blood drives:
· July: St Paul Stake Center in New Brighton
· August: Edgerton Chapel in Little Canada
· September: Institute building in Mpls.
· October (potentially): Oakdale Stake Center
We need a minimum of 30 donors per site. Healthy people can donate a pint once every 56 days, so donors could participate in 2 blood drives if schedules permit. At this point, we are tasked with collecting names of interested donors. A Stake High Councilman has been assigned to each building and will coordinate volunteers to work at each drive once we are assigned dates.
In order to get our first drive scheduled for July, we need to start gathering names now. Sister Davidson (Stake Communication Director) will be collecting that information. If you are interested in being a donor, please provide the following information to Sister Davidson by Friday, June 12th.
