Spring is just around the corner and we are getting the tennis courts ready for play. We have put down approximately 22 tons of new material on each court. Using a laser grader, Federico has spread all this material on the Pinetop courts. Now that the material is down, water has been applied naturally and we begin the process of brushing, watering and rolling. This is a lot of material to put down at one time, so the curing process is slightly longer. After we have the courts sufficiently packed down we will begin putting down the lines.
By providing a lift on the courts they will drain better, eliminate low spots, hold better moisture longer and play better. This process will reduce downtime due to rain and court maintenance. The goal is to start lining the courts on Tuesday based on the weather forecast. The lining process can take 2-3 days, but cannot be done when the courts are wet. We will send out an update on Monday. We look forward to getting out on the courts ASAP but we cannot rush the process.
