Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are incredibly grateful to see progress in vaccine distribution, reduction of COVID-19 cases in MN, students returning to schools and returning to in-person sacrament meeting. We can see the hand of the Lord in answering the many prayerful petitions of members and friends over the past many months.
We invite you to dedicate a portion of your fast this Sunday Feb 7th towards asking the Lord to help us return to the temple as quickly as possible. We are uniting our fast with all members of the church in Minnesota (8 stakes) and we request your faith and prayers to this purpose.
We also recognize the unique opportunity we have been given to prepare collectively to return to the St. Paul Minnesota temple and in doing so invite you to consider a few ideas below:
- Prepare to receive your own temple ordinances or take steps to renew your temple recommend. The temple is open now for those receiving their own endowment or sealing and you will have the opportunity bring 16 of your closest friends.
- President Nelson has invited all: "during times of our distress when temples are closed, you can still draw upon the power of your temple covenants and endowment as you honor your covenants. Study and pray to learn more about the power and knowledge with which you have been endowed—or with which you will yet be endowed."
- Of special note, the Church has provided information about the Endowment on the Church's temple website and in the General Handbook 27.2.
- Participate in Family History work. Using the Family Tree app on your phone is a great way to spend spare moments, you might check-out the "tasks" icon for short activities you can perform for your ancestors.
- Prepare a name to take to the temple. Family history consultants in each ward are ready to help anyone that needs a place to start.
- FamilySearch provides a number of fun at-home activities you might try for yourself or with your family to connect with those past and present.
- Participate in virtual RootsTech February 25-27. Join the world's largest family celebration for free to unlock your family's history and learn how to preserve the stories of your life.
