St Paul Stake “Winter Wear” Drive

As we edge closer to the cold winter months, we want to help ensure that all members of our community have a warm jacket and other winter wear.

The St Paul Stake will be holding a Winter Wear Drive during the month of October. We have partnered with a wonderful non-profit in St Paul who provide basic needs.  FOCUS MN is a faith-based organization, located in the St Paul Stake, that offers a small food shelf, a used clothing 'store', and meals a few times a week. There are many ways that we will be able to help support this organization throughout the year, but their most urgent need is winter wear.

We ask you to search through your winter wear stash at home and see what you can part with.  Coats, Jackets, Boots, Gloves/Mittens, Hats. You're also welcome to donate new items.

ALL ITEMS MUST BE CLEAN AND FUNCTIONING!  

If a zipper doesn't work for you, it won't work for the person who gets your coat.  If it's missing a button, the person who gets your coat will not have the resources to fix that. Please make sure the items you donate are clean and useable. Thank you for being considerate about your donations!

We will be collecting winter wear on three Saturdays in October in the parking lots of the below buildings.

·         Saturday, October 10: 9 – 11 a.m. at the Edgerton and Oakdale buildings

·         Saturday, October 17: 3 – 5 p.m. at the New Brighton building

·         Saturday, October 24: 9 – 11 a.m. at the Edgerton and New Brighton buildings

If you cannot personally make it to one of the Saturday drives, we have asked Ward/ Branch Relief Society Presidents to arrange a place to collect items and deliver those items to one of the Saturday drive sites.  Our final collection day will be October 24 and we will be delivering the donations to FOCUS MN the week of October 26. 

Thank you very much for giving something you no longer need and helping those in need within our community stay warm this winter.  It may seem small to you, but to them it is a blessed gift!
