As we look forward to getting back on the outdoor courts at Pinetop, we also need to look ahead to one of the team playing opportunities currently organizing at Pinetop. The Gate City Ladies League that starts at the beginning of April is forming teams now. The league is for all levels and ages, and you must be a current member of Pinetop to participate. Gate City general Information: - The league starts in the beginning of April and normally runs approximately 8 weeks.
- Rosters/Captains and initial team rosters must submitted by March, although players can add to a team anytime during the league.
- There is no cost for this league.
- Matches are played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays depending on what division you play.
- Divisions 1 and 3 play on Tuesday mornings, Divisions 2 and 4 play on Wednesday mornings.
- Play begins at 9:30. Matches are 2 out of 3 sets with a super tie-breaker for the 3rd.
- Five courts will play in D1, D2, and D3. 3 courts will play in D4 and each team match is all doubles.
- In the case make ups, players will be allowed two weeks with the availability for indoor play if needed.
- Team placement is based on USTA ratings. If you will not have a USTA rating please contact David Leatherwood about a "Gate City rating".
- You do not have to be available for every match and you probably will not play in every match.
- We will have team clinics available for Gate City teams.
Team guidelines: - Division 1: USTA rated 4.0 and above
- Division 2: USTA rated 3.5 and 4.0. Limited to two 4.0 players per match and they must play court 1.
- Division 3: USTA rated 3.0 and 3.5.
- Division 4: USTA rated 2.5 and 3.0. 3.0’s must play on courts 1 & 2, no 3.0’s on court 3.
- Players can sub up from a lower division to a lower court on the higher division if needed.
