Dear Brothers & Sisters,
We have a special service opportunity share, which is assembling the furniture the Church is donating to the Amber Apartments project in Minneapolis. This service opportunity will occur Saturday morning December 11th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Volunteers and friends are invited to sign-up to help assemble beds, dressers and tables in 22 apartments.
We have 20 slots available for sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0E4AADA72DABF49-amber . Address and location details are available at the sign-up.
The basic furniture assembly includes putting the legs on the end tables and attaching pieces. We ask those who sign up to bring tools to bring/use (some will be available at the site) including Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead), Hammer, Pliers, Allen wrenches, Hand drills (if comfortable using), Razor/pocketknives.
We are grateful to all those who are helping in many other ways on this project over the past few months. These 22 studio apartments are dedicated to individuals who have lived with homelessness here in MN. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has donated the furnishings for these 22 apartments that we will be assembling.
We are grateful for the members, friends, youth and children who have been helping to make these spaces into homes with a "welcome basket" for each by providing home goods, clothing, gift cards and art projects.
With gratitude,
The Anoka Minnesota Stake Presidency
