Hi Pinetop Members,
Spring is right around the corner and we are gearing up for the tennis season. We have multiple opportunities for all levels of players. We will offer group clinics, lessons, organized match play, club teams, USTA teams and Tennis Mixers!
Starting in early to mid March the spring adult USTA season begins. Matches are Pinetop, Spencer Love, and other clubs in town. There are teams for every level of player; from just beginning to local pro level.
Players can join a team based on their USTA rating which is determined off of your abilities and/or experience. You can obtain a rating when you join the USTA, at www.USTA.com. Please contact David Leatherwood if you have any questions about your rating or help on how to get it

The ratings start at with 2.5 little or some experience and go by .5 increments up to 5.0. There are day time and night time teams. Please sign up sooner than later to ensure you get on a team. There is a $26 league fee to play USTA league tennis.
We are currently looking to fill more spots on a USTA Pinetop ladies night time 2.5 team (Tuesday), and ladies 3.0 day team (Monday mornings). Contact David Leatherwood for more information.
Beginning April 7th, the Ladies Gate City season begins as local clubs play each other weekly. All levels are invited to play in this league. This is a day time league in the spring and fall, and a night time league in the summer. There are four divisions with Division 1consisting of the highest USTA ratings of 4.0/4.5, Division 2 - 4.0/3.5, Division 3 -3.5/3.0, and Division 4 - 3.0/2.5 players. You can join this league at any point, just contact David Leatherwood for more information. Once you are signed up for a team, you don't have to play every week. There is no charge to play Gate City.
The Men's Interclub season will begin play on April 18th. This is a club league with matches being played at Pinetop and other local clubs. There are two different leagues: USTA rated 4.0 and above and USTA rated 3.5 and below. Matches are weekly on Saturday mornings at either 8:30 or 10:00 depending on the weekly schedule. You do not have to commit to every week, just let your appropriate captain the dates you are available. The Interclub tournament will be in mid June ,a specific date has yet to be determined. The format is 3 doubles, and there is no charge associated with the league.
Outdoor clinics will begin March the week of March 9th, which will include adults, juniors, and cardio clinics. I will be sending out that schedule in two weeks.
There are also Junior Team Tennis opportunities for juniors at Pinetop with a Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon league. I will send out that information next week along with the junior clinic schedule.
The junior team leagues will not begin until mid April.
