Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.Life often involves coping — well or poorly — with stress, competition, illness, anxiety, disappointment, depression, fear, and loneliness. Although the majority of Americans report high levels of physical and mental stress, only about one third believe they are doing well at managing such stress. Depression and anxiety burden far too many fine people. The Lord has provided spiritual insights and revelation to teach us how to COPE and become more RESILIENT. These teachings of the Restored Gospel are strongly supported by the modern Science of Coping and Resilience. Our Speaker: Brother R. Chris Barden is a licensed clinical psychologist and award winning research scientist in the field of Coping and Resilience. Dr. Barden received his Ph.D. in training from the University of MN, U.C. Berkeley, and the Palo Alto USVA/Stanford Medical Centers. Dr. Barden is also a licensed attorney trained at Harvard Law School (J.D., cum laude). He has given invited addresses on Coping and Resilience at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, USC, and many State Universities as well as at the U.S. Surgeon's Conference and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Dr. Barden currently serves as the President of the Bloomington MN YSA Branch. He and his wife of 30 years, Robin, live in Plymouth, MN. They have four wonderful children and an energetic Husky.
